Oh my. Was this ever a thrilling process. I had so much fun making an audio recording of my story.
Here is my story again but this time the audio clips are underneath.
Instructions:
1) Press play on the first audio clip.
2) Hit play on my book. If you want the book to be larger, there is an 'expanded' button on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
3) When the first audio clip ends, hit the other one.
Here is the storybook that I created using the Web 2.0 tool Blurb. In the next two weeks I am going to use another Web 2.0 -Aviary- and create an audio recording of the story. My son and daughter will then be able to view the book online, on the iPad or iPhone, or as an actual book, while listening to me tell the story. So exciting!!
I decided to explore the Web2.0 tool Blurb after reading an article on podcasting. The article told of a teacher who had her students write a story, turn it into an illustrate book and then make an audio recording of it. They then uploaded the audio file to the web where younger students could listen to the story while they looked at the illustrated book. I decided that I would do the same thing, but I would create my illustrated book using an online bookmaking tool called Blurb. From there I would have the book published and printed. It would be a family keepsake as I was going to write a story with my children being the main characters. I would then use the tool Aviary to make the audio recording.
I am half way done. You can view my story online from this post. You'll have to wait for the audio recording. I'm working on that this week.
